Hey everyone

I’ve recently started exploring Dingo API for building structured APIs in my projects at Capet Act, and I’m curious about how others are using it in real-world scenarios.

So far, I like how it helps organize routes, versioning, and responses, but I’d love to understand:

Is it still a good choice in 2026?
How does it compare with Laravel’s built-in API features?
Any performance or maintenance challenges?
Best practices you follow while using it?

Hey, I would not use it for a new project to be honest, I'm working on a cohesive rework of dingo as well as the json formatter and api boilerplate projects, you can follow it on https://github.com/specialtactics/laravel-api-boilerplate

Once released, it will replace dingo-api largely, and simply build on top of Laravel's features.
